Programs

Stronger workforce. Healthier communities.

Physicians for a Healthy California (PHC) supports physicians, invests in medical education and brings people together to advance health equity. Our programs help expand access to care in communities across California.

CalHealthCares

Reducing educational debt. Expanding access to care.

CalHealthCares provides educational loan repayment support to California physicians and dentists who care for Medi-Cal patients. By easing the burden of educational debt, the program supports providers serving patients who face barriers to care.

CalMedForce

Investing in California’s physician workforce.

CalMedForce funds new and expanding graduate medical education (GME) residency programs throughout California. These investments create more opportunities for physicians to complete their training and help address the state’s physician shortage.

MedStudentsServe

Supporting service. Developing future physicians.

MedStudentsServe supports medical students in developing innovative approaches to serving communities with limited access to health care. The program helps students put their ideas into practice while responding to the cultural perspectives and health needs of the people they serve.

GME Startup Solutions

Helping communities build physician training programs.

GME Startup Solutions provides technical resources to help California health delivery systems launch and grow graduate medical education programs in underserved communities. The program supports efforts to build local training capacity and address physician workforce needs.

Health Equity Leadership Summit

Connecting people. Advancing health equity.

The Health Equity Leadership Summit brings people together for two days of learning, discussion and collaboration around a shared vision for equitable health care. Through trainings, keynote presentations and panel discussions, attendees explore ways to turn that vision into meaningful change in their organizations and communities.
