PHC continues to educate patients and providers about appropriate antibiotic use December 1, 2018By Jill Scott AWARE Physicians for a Healthy California’s Alliance Working for Antibiotic Resistance Education (AWARE) continues to lead in efforts to increase provider and patient education about appropriate antibiotic use. AWARE is focused on reducing the unnecessary use of antibiotics and reduce the prevalence of antibiotic resistance bacteria. With the flu season in full swing, provider and patient education continues to be a critical mission. With generous support from the California Department of Public Health, PHC will continue to partner with health plans and physician groups to identify high prescribers of antibiotics, provide targeted education and send provider toolkits.
